What makes our school such a great place to be?

It’s the connections!
At Aireys Inlet Primary School we make connections. As you meander through the bush to our school and gaze out at the ocean under the ever changing sky you may feel at peace, or in awe of such beauty.
Our dedicated staff and students make connections with their surroundings, with each other, with our school community and extended community members. We believe learning is not confined to the four walls of a classroom and encourage our students to be active and develop a learning connection with the environment in which we live.

Aireys Inlet is 90 minutes from Melbourne, under one hour from Geelong and 8km from Anglesea on the world famous Great Ocean Road. With a population of 1,148 (2006 census), the village atmosphere and quiet appeal of the town is carried into the nurturing Aireys Inlet Primary School space. Parents and children happily work with the dedicated staff to ensure each child can reach their full potential.

Aireys Inlet Primary School has grown from 12 students in 1893 to 114 today. We pride ourselves on the friendly, happy faces and caring nature of our students. Our experienced and dedicated staff teach across a range of disciplines within our five classrooms and the students participate in a range of specialist subjects including Indonesian, Science and Technology, Phys Ed, Fine Arts, Performing Art and Library. We have a number of external specialist music teachers who offer private instrumental music lessons in, guitar, violin, piano and singing.

Aireys Inlet Primary School is committed to nurturing the growth of the whole child (educational, social and emotional) through inclusive interaction with their peers, families, community, the school and our unique natural environment.

Why would you enjoy being part of our Aireys Inlet Primary School community?
Within this great community we share various events that give students, parents, staff and the wider community the opportunities to come together. The Aireys Fair has been running for more than 20 years and is a great chance to showcase our great school, it brings the school community together to raise funds, have fun, share our place.
The Winter Solstice lantern parade is a magical event that celebrates where we live with a ceremony up at the lighthouse and a lantern lit walk back to school for homemade soup and stories.
Throughout the year we have several excursions and incursions and camps to support and extend the students learning environment. The walks to the beach and the activities at the marine sanctuary with our local ranger to learn more about our sea life are popular.
We also offer the students experiences outside of the Aireys Inlet township visiting Melbourne and other regional areas.
